*If you press on a subject of your interest it will automatically take you to that specific section of the article.*

Introduction

This article will be mainly focused on macrodosing for a solo trip. In the future I will make microdosing content and macrodosing with friends tutorials but for now due to the fact that self development with the use of psychedelics becomes so popular I thought it would be a good idea to focus for the majority on solo trips first.
The article will hold many tips and tricks on how to use these substances wisely and above all a lot of tools to help you on your journey towards a pleasant experience.

Most people who trip alone are simply being thrown all over the place by their mind whilst they trip. People are so involved with their thoughts and emotions that they are unable to touch the ultimate potential of the psychedelic.
People have good trips, they have bad trips, essentially what this means is, either they experience pleasant thoughts and emotions or they experience unpleasant thoughts and emotions. Most people are not able to go beyond that unless they take an insanely high amount of psychedelics.

If your new to psychedelics then this whole story may sound a bit woo woo but still I encourage you to just keep the things you read here in mind. You don’t have to believe anything, nor should you disbelieve anything I say. It is best to get a subjective psychedelic experience first before we start talking about deeper dimensions of the psychedelic, but this subject of going beyond thought and emotion is one in particular that everyone should know about.

You may have heard that people experience rebirth, they get an out of body experience, they fly through space with the speed of light, etc. But you only hear this from people who took insanely high dosages.

This access to the Divine realm is the ultimate potential that the psychedelic holds, it is the only thing you should strive for because it is the best thing you can get out of the experience.

Most people as I said don’t go beyond the realm of experiencing pleasant thoughts and emotions, they think that thats it, they’ve accomplished some temporary pleasantness of emotion and thought and now they think they are completely healed and a different human being. No, emotion and thought is nice but if your dependant on those forms of pleasure then you’ll be too afraid to loose it with as a consequence that you become anxious to loose the pleasant mental and emotional state.

There is a way to transcend emotion and thought so that you can experience the blissfulness and the ecstacy of the infinite realm of the Divine. This is why people are so proud after they take a ridiculously high amount of psychedelics and get to that realm because when they come back they will say they were totally free from everything.

The goal with a psychedelic from my perspective is to use a medium dosage of psychedelics to access that realm consciously. If you can access that realm consciously you can explore hyperspace in a clear way that actually helps you grow because you get to see what reality is outside of regular human perception. The idiots who take 60 grams of magic truffles or 800 ug of LSD get to experience the Divine also, but the experience is so powerful that they cannot explore it consciously, it just drives them wherever it wants to go and that takes all the fun out of it.

The most beautiful thing is when you can sit still, focus on one point and then slowly move into that realm consciously, this requires preparation. If you’ve done the Inner Engineering program and you’ve practiced Shambhavi Mahamudra for some time, then when you take a psychedelic  it becomes likely that you are able to sit still and focus on one point with as a consequence that the entire universe opens itself up to you. Especially if you also learn some Isha Hatha Yoga to engineer your body and mind to be comfortable and still. This way, everybody who is willing to put in a little effort can access the Divine realm so that they can explore these realms consciously rather then being sucked into it by a huge dose of psychedelics.

If you just want to experience pleasant emotions and thoughts thats your choice, but that pleasantness will only fade away and you’ll get back to the ordinary version of yourself. However, if you are willing to take some effort to prepare properly, then the psychedelic can show you things you would not even experience in your wildest dreams.

A bit further in the article we will discuss ”Having no expectations”, this is an essential preparation for the psychedelic experience. If you don’t take care of this then your ego will search for a certain experience but the psychedelic won’t give you what you want, it will give you what you need and if you’ve already determined what you need from the trip then the psychedelic will definitely mess with you.

Don’t worry too much about it, we’ll talk about it a bit later and it is very easy to avoid. It is just something important to pay attention to.

So I talked about this accessing the Divine realm consciously but please don’t take it as an achievement to get to as fast as possible, because then you will create expectations. I just told you this so that you know about it, maybe it becomes valuable for you a bit later in your life.

It takes some work to simply transcend thought and emotion just like that. When you set the necessary conditions, transcendance happens to you without effort, most of you will not be able to get this access yet so in this article we will just explore some basic yet extremely helpful things you can do to increase the quality of your trip.

Start the alphabet with A not with Z.

What is a good trip?

When we talk about a good trip what do we mean? When are you truly feeling well in your trip?Having a wonderful psychedelic experience simply means that something within you is going well. Either you become loving, sharp, still, joyful, blissful and for some people even ecstatic, all of these states are considered having a good trip.

How to get there is the next question?

To give little more theory before we move on to the topic of how to have a good trip we have to understand one fundamental thing. What is pleasantness? What is blissfulness, love, joy and other states of being? It is simply a certain arrangement of chemicals which you enjoy. Love is one type of chemistry, blissfulness is another type, joy is a different kind of chemistry and ecstacy is the most vibrant form of chemistry that can happen. So when you are in love with someone is it really their presence you enjoy? No, you are only enjoying the consequence of chemical reactions that happen within you when you are with a person you are in love with.
So the pleasantness of being in love can only be experienced when somehow you get to trigger this chemical reaction within your system.

You may use a person to get that chemistry, you may use your favorite hobby to create that chemistry or maybe you buy a brand new car to get a pleasant chemistry, but fundamentally the only thing you are in search of is a pleasant arrangement of chemicals within your system, isn’t it?

When you get that job you wanted so badly are you enjoying the fact that you got that job? Or are you only enjoying the chemical reaction that got triggered by getting the job you wanted so badly? You are only enjoying the reaction that happens within your body.

You may want money, you may want love, you may want to get good at your hobby or help out people in need, whatever it is that you do in your life, it is in pursuit of happiness, it is in the pursuit of attaining a certain chemical structure.

Just look at people who are depressed, what does the psychiatrist do to help them? He gives them pills that change their chemistry to a more pleasant way of being.

The people who go to raves to take XTC and cocaine, what are they looking for? They want to experience a pleasant chemistry.

Now that we know this, that a good trip is essentially a certain combination of pleasant chemistry, we can move on to the next subject.

The fundament of having a positive trip

There are only two tools you can work with in your life, your body and your mind. With these two very complex mechanisms you perform every action in your life. Riding a bicyle is only fun when your body feels at ease, suppose you would be stiff everywhere in the body would you then enjoy riding a bike? No, it will not be a fun experience because your body is screaming ”no!” because of the pain. So if you want to perform an action, body should be comfortable.

The same thing goes for when you study in class for example, studying can be a fun experience if the topic is interesting but also only if your mind works well. Suppose you would not be able to concentrate or memorize anything you read would it then be fun? No, because your mind doesn’t cooperate.

So only when your body and mind are in such a state that they support you with everything that you do, you are able to enjoy something. The moment your body and mind don’t take instructions from you and dwell off into their own compulsions, you suffer.

The same thing goes for a psychedelic experience. If you are not able to sit still, if your body starts to become uncomfortable then you will not be able to have your full attention on the trip, which has as a result that your attention will be overtaken by the psychedelic. Then the psychedelic will just toy with you until the effects wear off.
The same thing goes for your mind, if you don’t know how to prevent getting entangled into your mental and emotional processes you will be a slave of them until the effects wear off.

To be honest, it requires a lot of work for most people to create a stable fundament, once you have that it becomes extremely unlikely that you’ll have a negative experience simply because your body and your mind are taking instructions from you. Inner Engineering might be the best available tool in the mainstream spiritual culture to create this fundament. Either that or practicing some Yoga or Tai Chi are very supportive to lubricate your body and mind so that they will be under your control after some time.

I wanted to create this article for everyone, doing daily spiritual practice is the best option if you want to prepare but I understand many of you will not start with that, and thats okay. This article contains a lot of easy yet significant tools to prepare you well for the psychedelic journey. The psychedelic allows you to download the cosmos, many things that are not yet in your perception will come your way, it is just that you have to remove the blockages that are preventing you from soaking in the psychedelic. Thats all.

There are many walls of resistance that will cause blockages in the energy of the psychedelic, with simple affirmations you consciously tell yourself you can unblock the blocked energies in a moment. It is really simple, its just a matter of paying a lot of attention so that you can become aware of the things I speak of.
Then on top of that there are some basic meditations and simple practices that create balance and clarity within you so that when the trip is messing with you too much, you know how to structure it well again so that you get your clarity back.

Once there is clarity, once you stop resisting the psychedelic and your ego starts to dissolve you simply have to be involved with the trip as much as possible. And thats really all you need to have a wonderful experience.

We can come to it like this. Imagine you are playing a soccer game and you are almost at the goal of the opponent ready to kick the ball in. How would you be in that moment? Imagine it, you are 10 meters away from the goal and if you score, you win the match, how would you be in that moment?
You would be absolutely involved with the game. At such a moment, thoughts and emotions, the future and the past don’t matter anymore because the only thing you are involved with is right in that moment and nowhere else. In this moment of intense involvement you transcend your psychological and emotional drama, which is the most significant thing.

If you can maintain that intensity of involvement with a stable mind and body it is not possible to have a bad trip, then you will just merge together with the experience and you will feel like the trip has become a part of you. Realizing that the trip is a part of you is actually what is happening, but we’ll come to that later in the article.

The basic thing you have to know about preparation for the trip is that you need a stable body and mind, this is your fundament. If you have that you can involve yourself fully with the trip, so how to involve?

Personally after so many trips I now see when I should trip and when not, for me there are two types of situations that can happen within me which will serve as an inspiration to take a psychedelic like Magic Truffles.
If I feel absolutely enthusiastic about the psychedelic realm, like I’m watching Terence Mckenna videos and reading trip reports online and I just can’t stop the exitement of going into the psychedelic realm once more, then I know I am enthusiastic enough to fully involve myself with the experience.

And then the second situation is when I feel that there is something stuck within me that has to come out.
In life, the many situations and interactions leave imprints on the emotional and mental level. The negative things build up over some time with as a result that once in a while I have to cry, but to just start crying just like that in such an exuberant way that all negative imprints leave the system is not easy. But when you take a psychedelic it becomes very easy to purge yourself of these things.

We see this in psilocybin therapy, ayahuasca rituals and psychedelic retreats that when people take a psychedelic they will scream, vomit and cry their eye balls out so that most of the negative imprints that gathered over a certain amount of time will leave the system.

In the traditional ayahuasca ceremonies people take the DMT containing drink multiple days in a row so that they can fully purge themselves. We will also explore this further in the article but for now I just want you to know that I personally also take psychedelics for this reason to purge myself fully of all these negative imprints.

So I trip either because I feel very enthusiastic to explore the spiritual realm or I trip because I want to give myself an internal shower to wash away many negativities that have gathered over a certain amount of time.

My point is that you need a good reason to trip, otherwise you will not be able to involve fully and the experience may turn negative as a consequence. So you need a stable mind, a comfortable body and a strong desire to take the psychedelic. If you don’t have practices with you to stablize your mind, if your body becomes uncomfortable very easily and if you don’t have a strong desire to take a psychedelic then I don’t think you should take psychedelics.

Why would you even trip? | Intentions

Unless you have a strong desire without expectations you should not trip. Suppose you are planning a trip because you want to get rid of your depression then please see that you are creating an expectation which will result in a potential crash with the trip. If you hear a story of someone who found major relief from their negative mental state then this might inspire you to do the same thing. So you start the trip thinking it will cure your depression, however it is not that simple, and especially if you’ve already determined the outcome of how you would like it to go, the trip will only go its own way.

Suppose you want to explore the deeper parts of your mind and you start to cry because of some old trauma that comes up, you will be dissapointed because you just wanted to explore your mind.

So on one side you cannot say ”I want this out of the trip” because the trip will just crush your expectations and do its own thing. And on the other side you do want the trip to go in a particular way so that you get specific benefits you are looking for. So what to do with these controversions?

We talked about this a bit earlier in the article but lets go over it again to clear this subject. There are two main types of trips you can experience, an emotional trip and a trip of exploration (lets leave recreational trips of adventure for now, that deserves a webpage of its own).

Magic Truffles (from my experience) tend to go more into the direction of emotions. Sometimes I feel stuck within myself, I become very dull and I don’t show my emotions. When I’m in such a state and I go talk to people I act very blunt against them and I don’t really feel compassion towards anything that lives anymore. When I feel like that and it doesn’t go away by itself, something needs to happen otherwise I will break down sooner or later.

So suppose I’m sober and I sit alone to cry out all of that accumulated information, its hard for me to break open and let everything out. At such a moment I know I should take some truffles. Because the truffles open the negativity up for me, when the trip comes up I start to feel extremely bad, like a very dark surge of negativity opens up within me. When that happens I cry and cry and cry and cry, sometimes I even vomit, and then after 45 minutes to an hour it starts to come down and this deep sense of peace overflows me. After that I most oftenly feel great and the rest of the trip just becomes amazing. After such a trip I start to want to hang out with people again and my compassion for them is back, I can be exuberant again.

I’ve trialed and errored a lot with these things, sometimes when I thought I would need the truffles again, then later I would realize it was not the time to take them and the experience would be horrible for me. So picking the right time to take psychedelics is the key aspect to this.

This also goes for when you feel great in your life but you want to dig down a little deeper in your mind so you pop some LSD or you eat some Magic Truffles to get there. If you don’t feel absolutely enthusiastic to get into that space, you should not take the psychedelic.

This happened to me many times, I would have a great experience on a psychedelic and then after 2 weeks I would think ”yeah that last experience was amazing, lets do it again.” So I take truffles or LSD to get some pleasure out of it. If you do it like that it may work once or twice but eventually the psychedelic will punish you because you start to treat it like a regular drug. When you take cocaine there is always the guarantee you will feel well, with psychedelics it is not. It requires a strong desire to get confronted with the psychedelic realm, if you just take it on some free saturday night because you have nothing better to do, then for sure it will punish you at some point.

You may look for relief from depression, anxiety or stress, you may look for love, motivation or for God but if you have already determined what you should encounter in the trip it will definitely take a wrong turn.

So you want a specific benefit out of the trip, whether it is realizing your fundamental nature or a cure to anxiety doesn’t matter. You should just have a strong desire to face whatever comes your way without any expectations. Thats really all it takes.

Lets say you really want to become happy and cure your depression, just drop that idea, thats it.

Just say this to yourself consciously ”I don’t know what the psychedelic will bring, but whatever it may bring, I am okay with that. If it makes me feel horrible, thats good, if it makes me feel terrible thats even better.

If I see God thats nice, if I see the devil thats even better.

If I have nice thoughts, thats good, if I have unpleasant thoughts thats even better.

If I become anxious, thats good, if I become happy thats even better.

If you can enter the trip with this deep acceptance that whatever situation the trip may throw you in it is okay, then there will be a very deep acceptance to the current reality you are in. If you can be like that, that whatever comes my way it is okay then the psychedelic will take care of the rest.

How does the psychedelic take care of the rest then? It doesn’t matter how, it just does what it does and it does what it does very well, just have some faith that it will take you where you need to go, where ever that may be.,

How to take care of your mind set?

Suppose I tell you that there is a way to conduct your mental processes independant from any external stimuli, would you take that opportunity? Suppose that there is a way to feel pleasant without getting a compliment from someone, without getting money or a car, without the company of other people, even without lifting a single finger, you can be just be pleasant by your own nature without performing any sort of activity, would you take that chance?

If you are really interested in this, if you really want to escape the vicous cycle of having your environment determining how you feel within yourself then I advise Inner Engineering.

Inner Engineering is a program created by Sadhguru designed to bring this pleasantness of chemistry in a persons life. Further instructions on how to secure your well being in a psychedelic experience will be given further on this web post but if you do the Inner Engineering program you do not really need to read this article further. it is the best way to prepare for a psychedelic, especially if your serious about taking psychedelics for self development purposes Inner Engineering is by far the best way to secure your over all well being in a psychedelic experience and in everyday life in general.

It contains explanations of the mechanics of the human mind, profound meditative processes with Sadhguru and the program ends by learning the powerful Yogic practice, Shambhavi Mahamudra Kriya.

“The Shambhavi Mahamudra is a tool to touch the source of creation. In touching your innermost core,
there is transformation.”

– Sadhguru

When you have a tool with which you can determine how you feel within yourself, what else do you need to prepare for a possibly life changing psychedelic experience? If you have a tool like this, you are secure, because then you can determine how you are within yourself.

After attaining such a tool, the psychedelic will be able to flow freely through your system. When you develop your mind and body in such a way that the psychedelic can flow freely through you, you are not able to have a bad trip anymore because you know how to prevent blockages in your emotions, thought process and energy system.

Inner Engineering is the best way to ensure a pleasant psychedelic experience. However if you don’t feel like doing the program then that is absolutely fine as well. There are many more things we can do to influence how you feel.

Simple yet powerful ways to stimulate pleasantness

Influencing human emotion and thought processes in a positive way seems like an impossible task in modern society. Doctors prescribe pills simply because thats the only ”remedy” they have for a mental disorder. They declare people chronically ill with anxiety or depression, give pills that help them feel a little functional throughout the day and then people live their life like that.
Not a very good way to live life if you ask me.

We musn’t forget that modern psychiatry and psychology as we know it today is just a little older then 70 years. It was only after the huge amount of people who got traumas after WW II that people started researching and treating mental dissorders. Modern psychology and psychiatry is still in its baby footsteps and the way they are treating people is insane. However, psychiatrists and psychologists are doing the best they can and we musn’t forget that. They only want people to be well but they haven’t found out yet how to get people there.

Now to talk about the Yogic scienses for internal well being. These sciences for inner well being date back to 15.000 years ago. A galaxy of knowledge has been created in this culture and so many different practices have been created to engineer the human body and mind in such a way that it creates uttermost pleasantness for an individual human being.

Knowing this, let me ask you a question.

Would you rather take advice from people who’s science for well being is 70 years old, or would you rather take advice from people who come from a culture that has been exploring mental, emotional and physical well being for over 15.000 years?

Preparing for ego death

There is actually a practice to prepare for ego death, if you do this very simple thing a couple of times a day 7 days before your trip you will be able to let go of your ego easily.

Before we get into that though, lets do a general explanation of ego death. Ego is a collection of opinions, personality, memories, expectations and some more things. Ego is an idea you created by having many many layers of identifications to particular things. You can identify yourself as a good police man, if you are too identified to that idea you will try to protect it.

Suppose you tell a religious person ”God doesn’t exist” then that person will immediately go into defence mode and try to convince you why it is not so.

Like this you have so many ideas, repetitive thoughts, opinions and persona that are preventing you from surrendering to the psychedelic experience. The psychedelic wants to absorb this idea you have of an individual you so that you can move towards your ultimate nature. You cannot approach your ultimate nature with an ego because the ego is a survival mechanism based in an individual form. A psychedelic can make you realize that there is no such thing as individuality, everything in the universe is just enormous phenomena and it all happens in coherence with each other.

If you learn how to drop your ego before you take the psychedelic then the come up stage will not be difficult, it will most likely be very exiting, at least that is what happens in my experience.

So what to do to drop your ego?

Ego is a temporary thing, if it would not be here you would not be alive right now. Ego is your idea of individuality, suppose you would not feel like an individual you would not be able to survive. Suppose you get to such a state where as you look at a tree you see it as a part of yourself then you care as much about the trees well being as your own. So how to kill animals for food if you see them as a part of yourself? You cannot kill something voluntarily if you see it as a part of yourself right?
If you want to pick some plants but the only thing you see is how you are taking this plants life away then you would not be able to eat.

A funny story that happened to me once. I was in a room with 200 participants in a Yoga class. We were going through an intense 4 day program to experience total ego loss and becoming one with everything. At the final day all of us got a peanut, we had to hold it in our hand and look at it for a certain time. After some time I did not see the peanut as a peanut anymore, it felt like myself, as if I was watching my own projection in the mirror. We took the peanut in our mouths and were told to keep it there for some time, people started to cry and scream, I myself also got tears in my eyes.
Then they told us to chew on the peanut, it felt like I was killing a part of myself and tears were just running down my cheeks. Both because it was beautiful and because I had such a deep compassion for the peanuts life as if it was my own life, the peanut gave its life to become a part of my body.

So ego is a useful thing for survival otherwise you won’t care about your own well being anymore because you have more compassion for the well being of another life.

When you die, ego will also go. Many people who know they are going to die suddenly become very wise and like a saint because they realize that their individuality will come to an end soon. When you are aware that one day you will die, your ego immediately starts to crumble because it realizes it will dissapear one day.

To contemplate your own death can do miracles. Death is a taboo in modern society even though it happens to anyone at one point, so when you start to think about your own death at first it can feel a bit uncomfortable. But after some time of doing it, tremendous things may happen to you.

In this video Sadhguru talks about the significance of realizing your own mortal nature. If you want an easy method to prepare well for a psychedelic experience, then this is one very useful way to do so.

When you are aware you are going to die one day, suddenly all of these thoughts, opinions, belief systems and your personality don’t matter anymore, because you see it will dissapear one day.

How to make ego death a pleasant experience?:

7 days before the day on which you plan to trip you take this idea in your mind ”I only have 7 more days to live, at the 7th day I will die.”. And then you really put in some effort to concretize that idea, treat this seriously and make it into a reality by sitting down at least 2 times a day for 5 minutes to think about it.

Throw out all your plans, ideas and worries about the future and just make it into a reality that at the 7th day you will die. You don’t worry anymore about what happens after these 7 days, no need to worry about your mortgage, the future of your kids, whether you’ll get married or not or how you are going to make money because after 7 days you will die and your life will be over.

If you firmly establish this idea in your mind and handle every situation you come across during these 7 days before your trip you will see that the way you respond to people and situations changes drastically.
As I said it feels uncomfortable at first but it will ensure that you are able to surrender to the psychedelic effortlessly.

Isha Kriya

*PLEASE NOTE* Isha Kriya can be practiced as a preparation for a psychedelics in the days/weeks before your trip. It can also be used in the come up stage right after you ingest the psychedelic but you should NOT practice Isha Kriya whilst high on the psychedelic!

Suppose something negative happens to you, where does it happen? It happens either in your body or in your mind isn’t it? Whenever you feel unpleasant it happens in your emotion, in your thought or in your physical body.

So if all unpleasantness can only happen in the body or in the mind, how useful would it be to have a method to distance your self from the body and the mind? That would be quite a useful method.

Isha Kriya is a way of experiencing meditation in a very simple and easy way so that a little distance can be created between you and your mind and body. If you can create enough distance between your body, mind and yourself then this is the end of suffering because all suffering can only happen either in the body or in the mind.

you are the trip

As your ego dissolves and the trip becomes more and more dominant it is important that you don’t slip back into ego. You cannot have an ego if you see what you are.

When the psychedelic takes away this idea of you being an individual, then what happens is that there will only be the trip left at some point without a ”you” who is experiencing it. Then you just experience raw sensations but there won’t be anyone who is experiencing it, simply all thats left are the raw sensations.

Many people say ”I am consciousness, I am the awareness who is observing reality” but that is also an identity which you take on. From the moment you say ”I am this” you create an illusion which takes you away from your true nature, which is that there is no such thing as you. There is just raw sensation experiencing itself.

Please don’t make the mistake of just taking what I say as an idea. Because then you won’t move closer to truth and a pleasant experience. If you can simply just let the trip be without trying to influence it then you are there. It is not an achievement, it is not something you can get to because it is always there happening. It is just that you are not aware of it, thats all.

In the midst of your trip you can try and test something. Just aks yourself this question ”Am I the body? Or am I the mind?” and then consciously look at it, don’t take it just as thoughts and don’t try to come up with an answer. Just simply see that you are not the body nor the mind and it will come to you.

The reason why this is so valuable is that then you stop messing around with your mind. If you see that the only thing there is to experience are the raw sensations then immediately you will just let everything be and you will feel less bothered by your mind.

Just keep this in mind as a tool to create a certain level of inner freedom. ”I am not the body, I am not even the mind”. So simple yet so effective.

Having no expectations

We talked a bit about this previously but it definitely deserves a heading of its own because expectations have become a big trap in the community.

We hear people say ‘’set a proper intention for a psychedelic experience’’, and at the same time we also hear people say ‘’don’t have any expectations before you take a psychedelic’’. These two claims controverse each other because setting an intention essentially means you are creating an expectation.

‘’I want to be more loving’’

‘’I want my depression to go’’

‘’I want to meet God’’

If you say things like this you are creating a desire to experience it, once there is a desire to experience for example love, but love doesn’t come, you suffer because your desire goes unfulfilled.

So never ever say you want something out of the trip. The trip will take care of everything for you, it is that simple. The only thing you should do is to set the necessary conditions, if you prepare properly without tainting your mind with all sorts of silly ideas and beliefs then all potential that the psychedelic holds will come your way.

We can come to it like this, suppose you plant a mango tree because you want mango’s, what are the things you have to take care of to ensure you will end up with some nice juicy mango’s?

You have to think soil, water, sunlight, and once those things have been taken care of, mango’s will come automatically. So you don’t even have to think about mango’s in order to get them. You have to get filthy cow dung rich earth, once you have that, mango’s will come.

However many people think that when they think about love or freedom they will get it. No, you will have to set the necessary conditions within yourself, once that happens, love and freedom will come.

This meme may seem silly but its making such a good point.

However much you want something out of the experience, you shouldn’t want anything at all.

You should just enter the experience as if it is the very last thing you’ll do in your life.

Suppose it would seriously be the final thing you’d do in your life, how would you be? You won’t have to worry about relationships with people anymore, no worries about your career or business, no worry about the future at all. If you would truly treat the psychedelic experience as if it is the final thing you do in your life there will be no worries on your mind. You will simply just want to observe what happens, this is one method to stop messing with your mind.

As the meme tries to characterize, the psychedelic will always take control. It is just a matter of to what extend you are able to abandon your need for control. Once there is no need to go anywhere, the psychedelic will take you there.

Your mind will trick you in many sneaky ways into expectations.

Right now I said you shouldn’t expect anything, nor should you create an intentions in the sense of ‘’I want to experience love’’. With as a consequence you stop expecting those things because you think cutting off your expectations will give you a good trip. But please see that that is also an expectation.

So you may apply all of these tips and tricks that I’m giving you, but if you think that these tips and tricks will give you a good trip then the expectation of that may take you into a wrong direction. So before you take your dose you can sit for a second and realize that you have absolutely no clue what will happen to you. You don’t know if your going to find love, spirituality or God. You don’t know if your going to experience sadness, anxiety or depression.

You don’t know whether or not you are going to have a good trip or not. You simply don’t know what the heck will happen to you once you take the substance. So just be like a child on the first day of kindergarten, the child leaves the comfort of his parents and his house and goes to an unfamiliar place with people he doesn’t know, he becomes a bit nervous.

Does the child have any expectations?

Does the child have any likes or dislikes about it?

Does the child want something out of it?

No, it simply goes into it without having a clue what will happen to him. You should be like this as well, because then whatever comes your way there will be less resistance on the journey.

Overview of affirmations to use

Affirmations are a very well known way of self help in the western world and they work pretty well when you conduct them consciously on a regular basis.

My kindergarten teacher always said ‘’if you call someone a pancake 200 times he will start to belief he is a pancake’’. Suppose someone calls you stupid today, and tomorrow someone else also calls you like that, a week later your parents tell you your stupid then you will surely start to doubt your own intelligence after some time isn’t it?

Similarly people in the spiritual culture have been using affirmations to create positive impact in their life. You may have seen the movie ‘’The Secret’’, it is this popular self help movie in which they say ‘’if you believe you are rich you will actually become rich’’.

This is not the way in which we intend to use affirmations in the psychedelic experience. When I say affirmation I simply mean a reminder. Just reminding yourself of a few simple things whilst you are tripping is a way of conducting how you experience the trip. If you’ve practiced Isha Kriya for some time then when you tell yourself ‘’I’m not the body, I’m not even the mind’’ you will see that a certain distance happens between you and the trip. This way with a simple affirmation of one sentence you can prevent getting tangled up with your thought process or emotional process so that there will be some distance between you and the trip.

This is an essential aspect because it is just so simple and highly effective. There are just some things you have to become aware of and once you have been consciously aware of them for some time you can use an affirmation to remind yourself of them so that you are less bothered by your minds activities.

  1. I’m not the body, I’m not the mind.

Suppose you place an apple in a closet for three weeks, what will happen to the apple? It will rot. But if you put it into your body it becomes human flesh and bones. Like this since you were an infant you ate food so that you grew bigger and bigger into the size you are right now. So your body is just a heap of food.

Now if we look at your mind, your memory, your personality, your ideas and beliefs, these are all impressions you have gathered throughout your life.

So if your body is just a collection of food and your mind is a collection of impressions, then something more fundamental must be there collecting these things isn’t it?

If you put some stone bricks and windows on the floor will these bricks and windows then transform into a house automatically? No, you need architects and workers who actually build the house. Like this, an apple doesn’t turn into a human being automatically, a very sophisticated intelligence and a powerful force have to be there to transform the apple into a human body.

So there seems to be something more to you then just a body and just a mind, there seems to be something going on behind the scenes of your current reality. If you search for long enough within yourself you may find out what it is, but you don’t even need to know necessarily in order to enjoy the benefits of the above affirmation.

If you just practice Isha Kriya for some time you will see that a certain distance is created between your psychological process and Yourself. So then throughout your day when you mentally repeat ‘’I am not the body, I am not the mind’’ immediately there is major relief from the activities of the mind so that a sense of clarity and peace arises.

Just practice Isha Kriya everyday for a couple of weeks before your trip and see what happens when you repeat ‘’I am not the body, I am not the mind’’. The entire structure of the trip will change in a positive way with his simple affirmation.

  1. I am the trip, the trip is everywhere in the universe.

This affirmation seems to be a bit controversial to the one before but it is actually not about stating ‘’I am this!’’ as if you know what you are. If you make a statement of what you opt yourself to be then you will move away further from truth. If you say ‘’I am my consciousness, I am the universe, I am the trip’’ then you will only believe you know what you are, whilst in actuality you are just making a silly assumption.

So don’t use this affirmation to fool yourself into believing that you know what you are. Rather then that this affirmation is a way of becomes responsive to the entire cosmos, because the sensations of the trip are not limited to the small little space of your 5 sense organs. The effects of the trip are a possibility to experience your own limitlessness.

If I will try to explain further you will get confused so it is best you get a taste of this for yourself.

This is a guided self inquiry by Leo Gura from Actualized.org. This process can show you that there is no such thing as a ‘’you’’ in your experience. There are only raw sensations, once you see this and you look closer and closer you will see that there is no limit to these raw sensations, they are everywhere in the entire cosmos. The only thing preventing you from seeing this is your idea of a you or your ego as many like to call it.

When you start breaking these borders of your own individuality, something way larger then you may unravel itself.

To use this affirmation you should go through the guided inquiry linked above first, after that you just sit and you look at the sensations you are experiencing. Just take this thought consciously ‘’I am the sensations, the sensations are everywhere in the universe’’ (you can also use the word ‘’Trip’’ instead of ‘’Sensations’’ whilst you are tripping if that works better for you).

Every time you repeat the affirmation you look at the sensations you are experiencing for a few moments, once you loose the awareness you simply say the affirmation again and you observe again. Just see what happens when you do this. You don’t have to believe in anything, just consciously repeat the affirmation and see what happens.

If something happens, that’s good, if nothing happens, that’s great. Don’t make it dead serious, just try and see what happens.

  1. One day I will die, I cannot escape that.

Can you escape your own death? No. Yet everyone in the society is trying to. If you utter the word death people will automatically prejudice it in a negative manner. Though none of them know what happens after death, they are treating it very negatively.

Suppose you want to go to a party but you don’t know whether the party will be fun or not would it be righteous to say ‘’That party is bad’’? No it would be unrighteous because you haven’t even been to the party yet. Why would you judge something you haven’t experienced yet?

So like this the entire negativity regarding the subject of death is completely unrighteous. There is nothing wrong with death when it comes at the right time. Its just as much a part of life as being alive, the only difference is that you will not have a body anymore to experience the 5 sense organs.

So death is not necessarily a bad thing. Realizing that you are going to die can actually be highly beneficial as we talked about before. It can create a deep acceptance of the current moment and a wash away of your worries and troubles. What is there to worry about if anyway you will die in the end?

People have gotten enlightened because they contemplated death for a certain period of time. Many terminally ill people who know they will have only a couple of weeks left can become very joyful and carefree all of a sudden because they drop the load of worries they were carrying, they are going to die and that’s it. So a certain freedom is attached to this.

Once I was working in a nursing home and there was a man who got diagnosed with some terminal disease. My co-workers said I shouldn’t give him dessert because that’s bad for his sugar levels and it could make him faint. He asked me ‘’Why don’t you give me dessert?’’, I told him his body is not in the right condition to handle lots of sugar. He said ‘’Its okay, just give the dessert because within 2 months I will die anyway so l just want to enjoy this’’, I thought he was making a fair point so I even gave him two desserts. He started singing ‘’Long will he live! Long will he live!’’, which is a certain Dutch birthday song to wish someone a long life.

The people who worked there said he became very exuberant and joyful after he heard he was going to die. I don’t think he got spiritually enlightened because of it but without doubt it did make him more joyful.

Thinking about death can be confronting and something you’d rather avoid but I encourage you to set a timer for 5 minutes a day 7 days before your trip where you just sit down and realize that you are going to die. If you want to make it even more effective create a strong thought that the day of your trip will be the last day of your life.

If you treat the come up stage of your trip as if it is the last thing you’ll do, then when the effects come up and you consciously tell yourself ‘’one day I will die, I cannot escape that’’ you will see that there is a deep acceptance of what there is right now. Thinking about death can be a bit depressive for some people, but that is only because of the ideas you’ve build around the concept of death. If you stick to the awareness that you will die one day, then eventually this deep acceptance will come.

You may experience negative thought or positive ones, you may have a pleasant trip or an unpleasant trip, but this deep acceptance of death is something very vital for every psychedelic experience. It holds the power to destroy your ego, which is not pleasant at first, but an essential tool in your toolkit to prepare for the psychedelic experience.

Nadi Shuddhi and AUM chanting

Nadi Shuddhi is a certain breathing pattern that you follow to balance the left side and the right side of the energy body. Or to put it in a scientific manner, to balance the right part of the brain and the left part of the brain. When you practice this simple method you can create clarity and peace within the psychedelic experience.

Aum chanting (Nada Yoga) is a way of using sounds to create a reverberation that spread throughout the body into your surroundings. If you perfectly chant ‘’aum’’ for long enough you will see that your mind becomes very structured and peaceful. This has immense value in a psychedelic experience.

It is possible that the psychedelic experience becomes too overwhelming (even on moderate dosages) to do this practice. Just experiment and see what happens when you chant it whilst the effects are on, if it feels comfortable you can continue. But if it feels uncomfortable just stop and try it when the effects are gone or practice it when you are sober.

The most beneficial time to do this practice is to do it in the come up stage. Because then you prepare your body and your mind for the effects when they come up.

It has a lot of benefits both mentally and physically, Sadhguru will explain further in the video below.

Remember that you should not expect anything to happen, the sound must be uttered perfectly without effort and this takes some practice. Don’t let this discourage you because the benefits aquired are amazing and also the entire way you experience the trip can be altered with this practice.

Mantras

*IMPORTANT TO READ BEFORE GOING THROUGH THE TOPIC*

The Mantras are more powerful then you yet understand and should be handled with uttermost care. You can choose a chant and try it before your trip or in the come down stage of your trip. You should NOT chant a chant in the peak of your experience or when the effects are still very intense because when you take a psychedelic you become an input, not an output. When you take a psychedelic you are trying to download the cosmos, suppose you download and upload at the same time this may crash into each other isn’t it?

So when the effects are ON you should not chant a chant, you should just observe the experience. If you want to create a pleasant state of mind using a mantra you can do so up until 20 minutes after you ingest the psychoactive substance or as you are coming down from the experience.

Long ago, in the year 800, an 8 year old boy (who was later named Adi Shankaracharya) decided to leave his family in pursuit of Enlightenment.

Without a clue where he would be going he left his house and started walking. 10 miles turned into 100 miles, 100 miles turned into a thousand miles and at the end of his life he had walked from South India to North and from West India to East India twice. This is basically what he did with his life. He walked, he sang, then he died.

Hundreds of people gathered around him, he got many disciples, statues were made of him and he is considered one of the greatest sages who ever walked this planet. What made him so special?

The way this being lived is what made him so special. Every moment of his life he was absolutely involved with reality and on top of that he had found a way to access different dimensions of perception. He composed many extremely well organized Mantras, walking and chanting these Mantras were his way to reach his ultimate potential.

When you utter a certain key combination of perfectly arranged sounds, we call this a Mantra. Mantras can be used to create specific states of mind. Mantras can be used to shape the way you think, feel and experience life in a very significant and positive way. But only when you utter it with involvement.

Here follows a list of Mantras you can chant to ensure your well being in a Magic Truffle trip (all of these mantras can be found on YouTube).

Brahmananda Swaroopa by Sounds of Isha
for Hope, Bliss, Ecstacy and Enlightenment

Guruvashtakam by Sounds of Isha
a way of drowning in the lap of Grace

Yoga Yoga Yogeshwaraya by Sounds of Isha
for stability, clarity and stillness

Shivaya Parameshwaraya by Sounds of Isha
for expansion of the Self and freedom

Shambho by Sounds of Isha
symbolizes the moment a person reaches Enlightenment, the ultimate possibility of a human being

Many more chants have been created and most of them are also available on Spotify. I advice to only chant chants from Sounds of Isha and Sadhguru because these have been created with uttermost sense and carefulness to create a perfect key combination of sounds to get you into a specific mental state. Many mantras on the internet are created by people in ways that they like it, but not in a conducive way for ones growth.

One chant you should not utter by yourself is Aum Namah Shivaya. It is a very powerful chant that we only utter at Isha in certain circumstances and under the accompaniment of experienced people.
”Okay so why are you even mentioning it?”, because it is one of the most popular chants in the tradition. In precaution of you finding out about its existence by yourself, we thought we should mention it just to make sure you know about its risks. Chanting this chant can get you into serious dimensions of perception that most people are not ready for.

If you have a really wonderful experience and you have reached a stabile and positive state of mind you can choose to chant Shiva Shambho. It is also powerful but much more approachable then Aum Namah Shivaya

You can pick a Mantra from Sounds of Isha on Spotify or on the YouTube channel, then depending on which one attracts you the most, you can start practicing it. Right after taking the psychedelic you can chant the chant, this will make sure your mind and body become well organized so that the come up stage will be easier and so that the psychedelic can flow through you, unhindered by blockages.
It may take some practice but these chants can be very liberating after some practice.

Mantras are a beautiful and reasonably simple way to conduct inner well being, we advise to learn a few of them before your trip so that you have some options to assure your mental well being. Especially Brahmananda Swaroopa, if you can be devoted to that chant and stay with its effects, something really profound may happen to you.

Preparing the body for a psychedelic

Have you noticed that on a psychedelic your body become supple? Now if you try to stand straight and you touch your toes it may start to hurt, but on a psychedelic most of you can easily stretch down and touch your toes.

Also have you noticed that whilst you are on a psychedelic your body starts to feel very light, as if you are floating? Moving around your body just feels effortless.

Have you noticed that on a psychedelic the cold temperature doesn’t bother you as much as usual?

Something happens in your body as you take the psychedelic. Your body gets so lubricated with the effects of the psychedelic that basically the entire system becomes well oiled. Like a machine who gets its lubrication from oil, you get the lubrication from the psychedelic.

How much do you weigh?

Take the number in your mind and imagine how much you would struggle to pick up that same weight in brick stones. You would have to put in a lot of your strength to pick up your own weight in brick stones isn’t it? However you are carrying your body effortlessly.

Without any effort you can walk, jump, dance, run and move your body without being bothered by the actual weight. So something must be there keeping you up don’t you think so?

‘’Yes of course, my muscles are keeping me up.’’ Okay so what is keeping your muscles up? Through the muscles and actually through the entire body a force is flowing that allows you to move your body. It is not your physical body alone, there is also a more subtler body called as the energy body.

What happens when you take a psychedelic is that this energy body gets very strong, to such an extend that when you sit down you may not even feel your physical body anymore. If you take enough of the psychedelic compounds you will only experience the trip, but body will be gone in your experience.

If such a strong power flows through you it is important to manage it well so that it can flow freely, unhindered by blockages.

WHat diet should you have?

The most recent religion that has been formed in the societies is what foods are good for you and which ones are bad for you. I eat a large amount of fat in my meals and every time my mother sees it she has to give me a 10 minute explanation of why I will die of 5 potential diseases if I keep going like that.

I’m not here to tell you what to eat and what not to eat (except for some important exceptions), I am here just to ask you a simple question.

Does a machine work better with more or with less friction?

Suppose you have a smoothie grinder and you put ice cubes in it every day then chances are it breaks one day. Like this if you put too much stress on a machine like a car, engine, computer or whatever else it starts to malfunction because it wasn’t designed to take such levels of stress.

Your body is not different, your body is also a machine. If you put in easy to digest foods your body will function at its best because less energy is wasted on the digestive process. When you eat meat versus a fruit you will notice that you need to chew maybe 10 to 15 times longer on a piece of meat before you swallow it in comparison to when you eat a fruit.

Fruits are very easy to digest, your body will go through the least amount of friction when you consume it. Meat is one of the hardest foods to digest so your body has to work harder to digest it. Which will cause a drop in energy.

Have you noticed this, you eat a salad with fruits, nuts and veggies and after eating it you can still perform activity? Where as when you eat pasta with beef you have to lay down on the couch and rest for a moment before you can get up and do something again. Personally I don’t eat meat anymore simply because after I eat it I feel very heavy and lethargic.

However my father eats a chunk of chicken for breakfast. At noon he eats 12 meatballs and in the evening he eats 2 burgers on a casual Monday. He works 11 hours a day and in the weekend he’s always busy working on the farm, so who am I to tell him ‘’don’t eat meat, its bad for you’’.

If you feel very well after eating meat then by all means, go for it.

Personally I try to eat as much Sattvic as possible. We will go over that a bit further in the article but for now I just want to say, please don’t be too intellectual about food, food is about your body, it is not a belief.

If you Google ‘’are avocado’s good for you?’’ you will see articles with scientific evidence that they are healthy for your system. Also if you Google ‘’are avocado’s bad for you?’’ you will see articles with scientific evidence that they are bad for your system. So if you want to find out which foods are good for you wouldn’t it be more logical to simply eat something, sit down and observe how your body responds to it?

Eat 7 table spoons of honey, you will feel full of sugar. You can specifically feel that your full of sugar itself, it feels different compared to drinking half a glass of butter. Suppose you drink half a glass of butter you will also feel full (probably also sick) and you can notice that there is a specific feeling of being full of fat. Like this you can add natural sugars like jaggery or honey in your foods and observe how you feel after eating the meal containing it to see whether or not you feel satisfied with the amount of honey that you ate or that you should maybe eat a bit more.

Also with butter, personally I only eat ghee and not regular butter. If I add 1 to 2 table spoons of ghee in my meals I feel satisfied in general. If I go beyond that then in general I start to feel a bit uncomfortable of eating too much fat.

Like this if you can create a meal after which you feel satisfied and energetic enough to dive back into activity again at the same time, then you know that the food you ate was good.

If after the meal you are still hungry for an apple, orange juice, raisins, grapes, etc. this may mean that you didn’t get enough sugar. So just eat some honey or some raisins until you feel satisfied. If you always consciously eat like this, you will know what to eat, when to eat and you won’t have to ask questions about food to anyone anymore.

Some people think fats and sugars are unhealthy so they avoid them entirely. Those of you who think this let me ask you, why do you think human beings like the taste of fat and sugar? Why do you think the body stores fat and doesn’t get rid of it automatically?

It is fuel so the body wants to store it. If you listen well enough to your body you know how much of it to eat and how much to leave. But unfortunately the human intellect plays too much of a role in this aspect of life, people are counting their calories and they create all sorts of silly philosophies about how much sugar and fat to take without having any sense of what is happening within them as they eat what they eat.

The general thing you should get out of this text is that when you eat an apple and you feel energic and alive then please eat apples! And if you eat a bag of chips and feel like you are nailed to the couch then please look at it responsibly and define if eating chips is really improving your life or not.

The food that you eat determines how comfortable your body is and how you mind functions, this becomes extremely important when you trip on psychedelics. If your body feels like standing up every 10 minutes then how will you be able to focus on the trip? If you’ve eaten so much food that all your energy levels are needed in your digestive system then how much energy will be left for your mind to use?

Easy to digest, natural foods are recommended, not only on a psychedelic but throughout your entire life. They create the least amount of friction in the system and serve as good nutrition, this way the majority of the energies will automatically be used to enhance your clarity of mind.

On the day of your trip eat one meal like a salad or some rice with some nuts, veggies, fruits, maybe you also want an egg with it and then wait for 4 hours for the stomach to become empty. Once the stomach is empty after 4 hours you can take the psychedelic, however never start off your trip hungry!

If you feel the feeling of hunger arise as you want to take your psychedelic you should eat a couple of grapes, an apple, orange, drink a glass of warm water with some honey added to it and only then take the psychedelic. If you start your trip hungry you may get nauseous and throw up.

things you should avoid consuming

Here follows a list of foods which have to be avoided before taking a psychedelic. These food take away the energy or the ‘’Prana’’ in the system, which has negative consequences that are not conducive for tripping:

  • Onion
  • Refined sugar
  • Milk and other dairy products
  • Garlic
  • Eggplant (most destructive for the energy system)
  • All heavy (hard to digest) foods, fish, meat, pasta
  • Hing
  • Chillies (both red and green)
  • All nerve stimulating substances, Alcohol, hard drugs, Adderall, coffee and tea (caffeine)
  • Don’t go to bed with a full stomach. When you go to bed with food still in the stomach it creates a certain inertia in the system. This decreases your energy levels and makes sure you will perform less action in the world then you are capable of.

You may have theories about why these foods are supportive or good for your health but I’m telling you simply, just avoid these ones for your trip and preferably 7 days before your trip. After that, eat and drink whatever you want.

Supportive things to consume

Maybe some of your favourite foods were addressed on the previous list but don’t worry! There are a lot of delicious things to consume that are supportive for your trip:

  • Eat food that is alive. This means, suppose you put it in the ground something can grow out of it. Fruits, vegetables, salads, little bit of rice with your food, sprouts. Avoid cooking your foods, just eat them raw.
  • Eat high water content foods. Our body is 70% water. Food that contains at least 60% water is best absorbed by the body. It will keep the body most alive and vibrant.
  • How you eat is also important. If a healthy meal appears in front of you and you gobble it down whilst you are talking or whilst your playing a game on the phone or maybe because you are in a rush. Then the food approaches the system in an unconscious way which may also cause issues. When a meal appears in front of you, just look at it for two minutes. A third of the worlds population struggles to get their food, but you got your food. Just consciously look at it with gratefulness for two minutes and then start eating.
  • Don’t snack. If people would need 3 meals a day and snacks in between to maintain their lives, then half the population on the planet would be gone right now. If you are a healthy adult, two good meals a day will suffice to keep you going. If you eat more then that you are just wasting your energies to your digestive system.
  • Fresh juices like orange juice or apple juice can be used if you become hungry between meals
  • Ash gourd juice cools down the body and gives an enormous amount of energy that can sharpen your mind significantly when drank on a daily basis. It is best to drink it if you are tripping in a hot climate.
  • Hot honey water. Perfect for when you start to feel a bit hungry but you want to prevent the lethargy that happens after a meal. Honey water keeps your body vibrant and calm at the same time. It gives energy and is especially useful in colder climates.

A Yogi is a person who is capable of experiencing the entire universe when he closes his eyes. When you take enough of a psychedelic this access is also granted partially. Full time Yogis who don’t participate in society usually don’t eat for months. Sadhguru started getting attention after he sat under a tree for 13 days without moving.

There are people who simply close their eyes and they have access to the spiritual realm for as long as they wish. By synching together with powerful energies their body’s are maintained by the spiritual space, this is not some fantasy, this can actually be experienced and some people come close to it on psychedelics.

What I’m trying to come to is, when you are overwhelmed by these powerful forces that maintain the existence, the need for food just disappears. It would be ideal if no food is in the system at all during your trip. Or at least as less as possible. This is why I’m saying you should eat 1 easy to digest meal on the day of your trip because the psychedelic force is something that courses through your entire body. It is best your body is as empty and clean as possible.

Supportive Yoga practices and how to position yourself during the trip

Yoga is one of the biggest misunderstood subjects in the world right now. Most people think if you can get into some impossible posture you are doing Yoga, you are not doing Yoga, you are doing circus.

The word ‘’Yoga’’ means union. When a person gets into a state of Yoga he will experience everything as himself. When Yoga happens to you, you will experience the entire cosmos as a part of yourself. To explain Yoga with words feels unrightful because words cannot describe the magnitude of becoming one with the entire cosmos all at once.

The classical Hatha Yoga taught by Isha Foundation and Sadhguru is Yoga in its ancient, classical shape, untouched by distorted ideas and beliefs from the West. It holds the potential for a person to develop their body and mind in such a way that after some time there is absolutely no sense of friction in the mind or body.
This means that you attain the ability to conduct your mind, emotions and body consciously because you are not bothered anymore by mental and emotional fluctuations.

Here follows a list of classical Hatha Yoga processes you can learn to prepare your body and mind not only for a psychedelic, but to prepare them for life.

Surya Kriya

Surya Kriya is a potent yogic practice of tremendous antiquity, designed as a holistic process for health, wellness, and complete inner wellbeing. “Surya” means “sun,” and “kriya” means “inner energy process.” Surya Kriya activates the solar plexus to raise the samat prana, or solar heat, in the system. It also balances a person’s left and right energy channels, leading to stability of the body and stillness of the mind. This strong foundation becomes the basis to explore higher dimensions of life.

Traditionally available only to select groups of yogis, Surya Kriya is being offered by Sadhguru as a comprehensive spiritual practice that is ideal for the hectic pace of today’s world.

Surya Kriya includes several aspects that enrich one’s life:

  • Develops mental clarity and focus
  • Remedies weak constitutions
  • Boosts vigor and vitality
  • Balances hormonal levels in the body
  • Prepares one for deeper states of meditation

“Surya Kriya is a powerful process of activating the solar power within you.”

Angamardana

Angamardana, a fitness system rooted in yoga, offers everyone the opportunity to invigorate the body and reach peak physical and mental health. “Angamardana” means gaining complete mastery over the limbs, organs, and other parts of the body. True to its name, this practice revitalizes the body on all levels including the muscles, circulatory system, skeletal structure, nervous system, and the basic energy system.

With exercises carefully selected by Sadhguru to be of universal appeal and application, Angamardana needs no fitness equipment. It uses only the body and can be practiced anywhere, even during travel.

Regular practice of Angamardana revitalises the body in many ways:

  • Strenghtens the spine, skeletal system, and muscular system
  • Builds physical strength, fitness and tenacity
  • Takes years off the body, bringing a sense of lightness and freedom
  • Prepares the body for other Hatha Yoga practices
  • Helps in weight loss

“Angamardana is a powerful system to bring the human mechanism to ultimate health and wellbeing, and above all, to blossom into a full-fledged human being.”

– Sadhguru

Yogasanas

The word asana literally means a posture. Out of the innumerable asanas a body can assume, 84 have been identified as Yogasanas, through which one can transform the body and mind into a possibility for ultimate well-being. Yogasanas are not exercises, but rather very subtle processes to manipulate one’s energy in a particular direction. Hatha Yoga is offered as a set of 36 powerful postures, or yogasanas, to enable the system to sustain higher dimensions of energy.

Benefits:

  • Relief of chronic health conditions
  • Evolution of body and mind towards a higher possibility
  • Stabilization of the body, mind, and energy system
  • Deceleration of the aging process
  • Increases your consciousness

“If you consciously hold an asana, it can alter the way you think, feel, and experience life. This is what Hatha Yoga can do.”

How to position yourself during the trip?

It is best to sit straight up in a cross legged position with your spine erect, preferably without a backrest but I know many of you will not be able to go without a backrest so if you need that support, please do so. Just use a backrest for support, no headrest.

If you sit this way you can prevent yourself drifting off into thoughts or fantasies that the trip comes up with so that you can pay attention to whatever is happening.

If you prefer to lay down, you can, but just keep in mind that sitting straight up will give you the most amount of clarity. However if you truly feel like laying down, please do so.

How to take care of the setting?

They always say you have to take care of ”the set and setting”, this terminology has become very popular. They say ”set” and ”setting”, set being your mind set, and setting being your environment. Most people assume that both are equally important because the terminology of set and setting is said in such a way that it seems like 50% of the outcome of your trip is determined by your mind set and the other 50% is determined by the setting you are in.
If I’d had to give a percentage I’d say at least 90% of the outcome of your trip is determined by your mind set and maybe 10% or even less is determined by your setting.

I’ve tripped on a macro dose of magic truffles at a parking lot where people were drinking alcohol, racing cars, being loud, I got into a fight and got kicked in the balls, yet it was an amazing experience and I had a great time. So the setting was absolutely horrible and unpredictable, but still I had a good time because I was feeling great within myself.

You hear any number of stories of people who had an amazing experience but their setting was absolutely horrible. One story in particular describes this very well and this story is about Paul Stamets’s first trip.
Paul Stamets did not know how much mushrooms to take for the first time, so he just ate the whole bag. Then he went to a forest and thought it would be a good idea to climb a tree, he climbed a tall tree and when he was on top of it the effects started kicking in. It was way too powerful he said, and then on top of that, it started to storm. Much wind, rain and thunder, he held on to the tree for dear life whilst tripping on a high dose of mushrooms for the first time.
You would say this is terrible but it was the most transformative experience he had in his life and he considered it an amazing trip, even though he was terrified at first.

So it is not the setting or even the people you are with who determine the outcome of your trip, yes it is true that it plays a role and it varies from person to person how much an individual is influenced by his surroundings but in general, at least 90% if not more of how you experience the trip is how you are within yourself at that current moment.

Suppose you take 15 grams of fresh magic truffles today and 7 days from now you take the exact same dose in the exact same place as last time, then do you think both trips will be the exact same? No, isn’t it? Those two trips will be very different from each other because how you are within yourself changes every day.

So is it even worth taking care of the environment? Yes it is, because certain positive influences can be made that support you whilst you trip. Lets go over some of those points.

Creating supportive energies

If you’ve paid attention to the visuals that a psychedelic has you might have noticed a certain geometrical perfection. Many people experience very complex geometrical paterns with their eyes closed and if the dose was big enough sometimes even with eyes open. The shapes that take place are so incredibly well designed without even a single mistake within them.
Suppose you look at a snowflake, just how complex, well and effortless it is designed. Also your body is a complex form of geometry, so one of the basic qualities of nature is its sense of perfection of shapes and forms.

If you create a form of geometrical perfection using earth, fire, wind and water then the energy which is in the room can flow through this form which makes the room you are in more meditative. Then you will be less influenced by your thought and emotional processes.

Here follows a very simple process that anybody can put in their space in which they would like to experience a psychedelic. It will help you to maintain a certain undisturbed flow so that the psychedelic can course through you with less friction.

Tripping with friends

This article is mainly aimed for people who are tripping solo but still many of you will trip with friends, which can be a lot of fun!

A couple of things to note about it.

Suppose you are on a day on which you will be tripping with friends, this means social interactions will become extremely intense. Are you able on that day to look at a person lovingly and joyfully? If you can, then that’s great. The only advice I have to give you is to take the substance with people you know well.

But if you are on a day where you feel awkward and anxious being around people then I strongly advice you to not take psychedelics. The mental frictions that build up because of awkwardness and lack of connection to other people can create a chain reaction of negative emotions which will take your trip into the wrong direction.

If you are shy and awkward around other people but you still want to trip with people then either do it on a day on which you can look at people lovingly and joyfully without any effort, so on a day where social interactions seem to go effortlessly. Or trip with 1 or 2 persons you know extremely well.

The following dilemma may have come your way:

You planned a vacation to a beautiful place with your friends somewhere in a cabin on top of a great mountain, 3 months ago you guys were already discussing how great your Magic Truffle trip would be on that mountain. You’ve talked about it, you’ve prepared for it and now the day has come to take the truffles.

But it happens that on that particular day you don’t feel well within yourself. You are not as exuberant as usual and the anxiety of taking psychedelics starts to take over, but you’ve been planning this trip for 3 months already, you can’t tell your friends you are not participating anymore after 3 months of planning, right?

At that point, you should look at it consciously and be honest with yourself. ‘’Am I really ready to take a psychedelic?’’ If your answer is no, then however much excitement you’ve had in the previous days, and however much you’ve planned out your trip, you should be honest with your friends and tell your friends you are not participating.

On a day on which you cannot look at people with involvement, with love or with joy, you should not trip with people.

I made a video about how to entertain yourself in your trip. It shows a lot of fun stuff you can do with your friends to make sure you are entertained for the duration of your trip.

How to make a conducive tripping room

We talked a bit about geometrical perfection before, and this is essential. Your body is a very complex form of geometry, the cosmos and how it functions also has a certain perfection of geometry. But the room you haven’t cleaned for the last three weeks doesn’t have a perfection of geometry.

If its dusty, clothes are everywhere, furniture is misplaced, too much stuff is there in the room, then this will influence how you will be when you enter the room. Is it nicer to enter a clean and organized room, or to walk into the room of a 20 year old student who uses his room more as a garbage bin then as a place for wellbeing?

There is actually a whole technology of where things should be placed in the room to influence the way you think and feel. Sadhguru once said that his mother would spend hours picking up stuff and placing it in the perfect position in the room. People don’t know why they are doing it but they are doing it either way out of intuition because the source of creation within you likes geometrical perfection.

Does this mean you have to spend hours placing stuff in the perfect position in your room? No, there are just a few things to keep in mind:

  • Clean your room of dust and filth
  • Don’t place too many items scattered across the room and prevent unnecessary items crowding surfaces like desks, tables or near the window
  • Make sure you have a nice couch/chair or meditation mat ready to sit/lay upon during your trip

How much magic truffles should you take?

The dosage is something people are stressing about so much, but the dosage doesn’t determine whether or not you are going to have a good trip or not.

How is a bad trip on 30 grams of Magic Truffles more worse then a bad trip on 5 grams of Magic Truffles? You are having a bad trip and thats what is the problem. Of course if you are having a negative experience you want the dose to be as low as possible, but the most significant thing is the quality of your trip, not the dosage.

This doesn’t mean that if you prepare well you should take 50 grams of Magic Truffles, I simply want to address that the dosage is not influencing your quality of experience, it only determines the power of your trip. So if you take less this doesn’t mean you are less likely to have a negative experience, it is not determined by the dosage.

Some people take 1000 ug of LSD and have an absolutely wonderful experience, whether as others traumatize themselves for life. It is just a bigger risk that you are taking, thats all.

You do not need to take a lot, that is not where the potential is of a psychedelic, however there are too many people who think that thats where the gold is in the psychedelic experience. In a way they are right but it can be done with more efficiency and in a much safer manner rather then hoping you’ll have a good experience on a huge dose.

We’ll be discussing this a bit more further in the article but for now you should know that the only thing that will completely liberate you from your emotions and thoughts, is to touch a dimension of life beyond the physical. You have to strive to transcend emotion and thought all together so that you can touch a dimension beyond the limitations of thought and emotion. This can make you eternaly blissful and you’ll experience true liberation on a psychedelic.
This is the most valuable thing that a psychedelic can offer a person.

People are touching this dimension by taking a huge dose automatically, but the risk involved with such high dosages is too big to take. You can traumatize yourself on such dosages.
We hear people flying through space, experiencing past lifes, having out of body experiences. And for most people this only happens to them when they take way too much, so after such an experience they tend to say ”This trip on 800 ug of LSD transformed my life completely”, with as a consequence that when they say it to other people, that others may get inspired to do the same thing. That you are going to have a good trip on such a high dose is not guaranteed.

People get inspired by such stories to also take such a high dose but the only thing they end up with is a life long trauma.
If you’ve taken such high dosages, I simply consider you just lucky, it would’ve just taken one wrong turn for you to experience hell.

Taking high dosages is way too risky, but the spiritual realm that can be accessed on such high dosages is way too valuable to simply leave. Is there maybe a way to get to such realms on moderate and safe dosages?
Yes there is a way, but it’ll require some effort on your side.

”Ahh effort, I don’t want that, I just want you to tell me how to experience blissfulness without taking effort”, if this is what you think then I’ll have to disappoint you. It takes some work to experience the Ultimate pleasure that can be attained within a human being.
Then on the other hand, you’ve already got the power, the psychedelic can easily get you there. It is just a matter of how well can you make the psychedelic flow through you.

Inner Engineering and Hatha Yoga are ways to create a body and mind that can make you sit still so that when the psychedelic happens to you your body is comfortable and trained enough to handle the effects of the psychedelic well. When you’ve taken some effort to engineer your body and mind a bit then accessing spiritual realms on psychedelics happens automatically.

On the website of The Psychedelic Look On Life you can get macro dose Magic Truffle packages that come in portions of 15 grams. This is more then enough, even if you are not considering to do some basic Yoga to ensure a safe experience, then that is okay. This article also provides ways to create a pleasant experience without doing any daily Yogic practices.

If you just want to experience pleasantness of thought and emotion then by all means go ahead and prepare yourself by doing Isha Kriya and learn a simple mantra to stablize your body and mind and this alone will already help you tremendously to ensure a nice quality of trip.

One more thing about dosages, everyone has a different tolerance to these substances. Meaning that if you take 15 grams of Magic Truffles then the intensity you experience is a different level of intensity compared to how I would experience it.
Unfortunately I cannot predict how intense 15 grams will be for you, but I can ensure that for whoever you are it is not enough to cause an overwhelmingly hard to handle experience. It is just enough from my experience. Personally I’ve never been beyond 25 grams of fresh Magic Truffles and I don’t feel the need to do so because already if I take 15 grams I can access the Divine space, why would I take even more?

Just stick to the 15 grams and if you feel like you want to take less then by all means go ahead and decrease your dosage, this is simply just experimenting a bit with the dosage to find out what dosage is right for you.

By the way, did you know 5 grams of fresh Magic Truffles equals to 1 dried gram of Magic Mushrooms? So 1 package of Magic Truffles equals to 3 grams of dried Magic Mushrooms approximately.

What to do on the day of your trip?

This whole obstacle of ego death that people are talking about can be significantly influenced positively on the day of your trip. The anxiety you may have can be a stepping stone to bring a positive experience, suppose you would not feel threatened a bit before you take your psychedelic then you might go into the experience with ego full on.

Only when ego feels a bit intimidated, the chance of transcending it becomes a possibility.

This come up anxiety is a huge possibility because if you spend that time performing selfless actions you can make something else more important then you. Then you stop caring about yourself so much, your fears, your suffering, whether you like or dislike something, if you can become selfless then these things would not be bothering you so much anymore.

Suppose today is your last day, suppose 12 o clock midnight you will be gone today, then how would you be during the day? Please imagine how you would go to work, how you would speak to strangers on the street. Suppose your talk with this person, a stranger, is the last conversation you will ever have, how would you be?

Suddenly when you realize you may die any moment and you become aware of your mortality, there is this selflessness that happens.
All your life you’ve been busy creating well being for yourself. ”This should happen! That should happen! I want to marry someone like this, I want a big house, I want to be happy, I want children…”

And suddenly, when you realize today might be your last day, you stop caring about the future and this deep sense of compassion to the world around you starts to happen.
So if you can establish this in your mind from the moment you wake up on the day of your trip ‘’Today is my last day, tonight when I take the psychedelic, I will die.’’ it will create a positive impact on how you will experience the trip. And then experience your day with that idea well established in your mind, make it into a reality.

If you can live your day like this then the psychedelic will work through your ego effortlessly, it will make the trip a lot easier to handle.

Become a volunteer

There are certain activities that can be very useful to create an even better experience. If you can live throughout the day as if it is truly your final day then this deep sense of compassion will come for your environment.
We can make use of that big time.

You only have to find a task where you can work for the well being of others rather then for your own personal needs.

Your mother may ask ‘’Can you clean the basement today? I have a sore back.’’, but you already planned out that you would spend the day in the forest by yourself. So then this chain reaction of ‘’why do I have to do it? She’s just lazy.’’ Can trigger within you. When you lack the necessary levels of pleasantness within yourself you will want to secure your well being in a very selfish and uncompassionate way.

Stealing something is a good example of this. When you steal something there is little to no compassion for the other person, this is the result of a lack of self-fulfilment so the thief thinks he can make himself little happier when he has this item which he wants to steal. But it won’t make him happy, it will only make him care about himself more and more. When you care more about yourself then for others, then this means there is a lack of pleasant emotions or compassion within you.

But if you can perform a selfless action, you will feel a certain fulfilment. If on the day of your trip you can go and do tasks for your parents because they need your help, if you can go and volunteer at a nursing home to give those people food, if you can go on the street where you see a homeless person in the cold and buy him a blanket, then with every action you take you will be moving closer to selflessness. And thus, moving closer to a positive psychedelic experience.

There are a couple of traps here you have to know about.

When I say ‘’If you can go give a homeless person a blanket, you will move towards a good trip’’, then you may think ‘’oh, so if I give a homeless person a blanket or when I help my parents with tasks then automatically I will have a good trip!’’. Its not that simple, it has to be sincere.

Please note that if you are giving a homeless person a blanket because you think it will ensure a good trip for you, then you are still doing it for yourself, not out of sincere compassion for the other person.

Please visualize and see, how would you be if today is your last day? How would you be if truly 12 o clock midnight you will be gone. How would you respond to other people? Please visualize and see.

If you truly establish this idea in your mind that ‘’an hour after I take the psychedelic, I will be dead’’ then when you do any activity it will be voluntarily out of compassion for the other person, or even just for your environment like cleaning something or taking care of a tree in the forest.

It can be any sort of activity in which you can loose yourself.

You may go to a nursing home and offer the old people food and take care of their wellbeing, if you are more concerned about their well being then about your own then you are ready for ego-death.

I’m just taking nursing homes as an example but like I said before, it can be any sort of activity. Just to give you some ideas I will make a short list to inspire you:

  • Volunteer at a local nursing home, or apply for any other sort of volunteering
  • Help out a friend with their homework, chores around the house or whatever else they may need help with
  • Help your parents with chores or make a beautiful present for them as a surprise
  • Go to a forest and plant some saplings. Spend some time with them, say farewell, and go about your day.
  • Offer the ducks in the park some bread or the birds on the streets. Offer them something to eat.

You can even go to your job with the mindset of a volunteer, the most important thing is that you establish this idea in your mind that ‘’tonight when I take the psychedelic, I will die an hour after that’’ and then live your day out of that. This realization of your own mortal nature becomes the foundation of selflessness and if you are able to live every moment of your life like that, you will live a blessed life.

What to do in the come down stage?

The come down stage, when the effects are starting to deplete and you slowly slip back into the regular perception of reality it becomes time to chill and enjoy the afterglow.

You may do whatever you want, I’m not here to tell you what you should do and not do, I’m just giving tips, tricks and my personal view on this subject. If you want to smoke a joint, fine, if you want to drink a beer, fine, if you want to play video games or make music then that’s absolutely great. The preparations are over, you’ve been through the experience in hopefully a pleasant way, what you do after that is not my concern anymore.

However, there are some recommendations I really advise you to check out.

After a positive trip, setting steady intentions for the future becomes very easy. You can smoke a joint in the come down stage but before you do that, consider to think a bit about how you would really want your life to be like. Lets leave the reasons why you cannot do things on the side for now and just go over the things you truly want to manifest in your life. Just visualize a life in which you are the way you want to be, visualize how you want the world to be and visualize the things you truly want to manifest in your life.

Psychedelics will also make your visualisations more vivid and if you’ve had a very loving trip or maybe even an ecstatic trip then this can contribute to the visualisations very positively.

Many of us set a certain goal, after a month they change the goal, after a year they take another goal without really accomplishing anything. They just hop from desire to desire without fulfilling one desire first, obviously if you are like this you are not intending to go anywhere isn’t it?

If you want to drive to Manchester but you change the route to London, then to Edinburgh, then to Glasgow, and on and on and on, then obviously you don’t have the intention to arrive anywhere. Isn’t this how you are living your life right now? Today this certain thing looks like something you must have, tomorrow you want another thing and like this you keep on switching and switching, isn’t it?

So what do you truly care for in you life? What would you really want your life to be like? If you don’t establish this in your mind on a daily basis then you will loose direction in no time. The psychedelic come down stage is an opportunity to create a vivid visualisation of how you want your life to be.

When you truly know what you want to establish in your life you should think about it for at least 5 to 10 minutes a day, otherwise, it will slowly dissipate from your mind and you will feel lost again.

Chit Shakti | Be the maker of your own destiny

Chit Shakti meditations are tools to manifest what you really care for, in your life. Below are a few you can try out in the come down stage if you really want to set a steady direction in which you want your life to go.

*NOTE* Below follow the first Chit Shakti meditations. They work very well but in the Sadhguru app there are newer versions of the same meditations with better audio quality and in general a better overal experience of the meditations.

Destiny is what you create for yourself. Fate is when you fail to create your own destiny.”

– Sadhguru

Psychedelics for mental health issues

Psychedelics are in the ”come up stage” of mental health research. I estimate that within 10 years they outrate all other medicine that are being used today to treat mental health issues, that is, only if it goes the right direction.

It seems to be the renaissance of psychedelics, the way science is progressing and experimenting with these substances specifically to treat mental health disorders is already being done widely across the globe. The future seems bright, or not…

There is still a major stigma on these substances. When ordinary people come to know you use these substances they tend to look at you in a certain way. In this modern society most people still see them as drugs which makes it extremely risky in the social situation alone to work with these substances.

If psychedelic research becomes mainstream many people with severe mental issues will think ”oh so science is using LSD and Mushrooms to cure mental issues, let me try!), this is not speculation, it is already happening. Every now and then people contact me and they ask ”I have been suffering from depression and suicidal thoughts for the last 20 years, I’m about to take 5 grams of dried Magic Mushrooms, you got any tips?. Yes I have a tip, please don’t do it.

We musn’t forget the basic effect of a psychedelic, psychedelics intensify your direct experience, they just make reality more intense. This means that whatever it is you are going through right now either mentally, emotionally or even physically, the psychedelic will just make it more intense. So if you feel negative, the psychedelic will not delete that for you, it will only enhance it and if you are not well prepared for such an experience, then you might resist it and that can lead to a negative experience.
But you hear so many people getting cured after they take a psychedelic, whats this about?

Depression and anxiety are caused due to a lack of involvement in life. You may have noticed that sometimes you tend to avoid people because you don’t want to get involved in a conversation. Or the anxiety you have before a job interview or when you are in front of the class giving a presentation. All of these emotional triggers are there because of a lack of involvement with reality.

Suppose you are in a state in which you avoid talking to people, what happens if someone starts to talk to you? You want to go away from that situation as fast as possible isn’t it? Unfortunately you can simply walk away from a conversation with a person, if you could not do that, then you would have no other choice but to fully involve yourself. Which is exactly what happens when you take a psychedelic because you cannot walk away from the experience, it confronts you as long as the effects are there and avoiding the experience is not possible.
If somehow, you can get a person to get involved with the experience, they’ll have a good trip, whatever their mental situation is. Whether they have trauma’s, anxieties or depression, if you can get such a person completely involved for some time to such an extend that their sense of involvement with reality is bigger and more intense then their involvement with their thought process, then the psychedelic will take care of the rest.

The following thing is something you can try to experience what I’m talking about, especially if you are a shy person. You go to the city with the intention of talking to three people, it doesn’t matter about what you talk or to who, you just go with the intention to talk to three people. This already creates resistance in a lot of people because they are used to avoid talking to people. Wearing headphones and getting absorbed in their own thought and emotion is common for a lot of people.
So when you decide that you are going to get involved with three people naturally for many people it will create discomfort. But if you just go ahead and take that step to talk to one person on the street, ”Hey nice shoes. Thank you, where did you buy them? Online in this store. Okay nice I think I will buy them too for my brother but he likes the color blue. Ok.”. You may think, ”why would I do this?”. Its valuable to try because then you get to see the many layers of resistance that happen within you as you take the psychedelic.

Suppose you go to a party where you don’t know anyone and you become shy and awkward, then that’s the same process of resistance when you take a psychedelic. If you can go to a party and get involved with people you don’t know in such a way that your actually bonding with them then I don’t doubt you’ll have a good experience on a psychedelic.

But if you are someone who crawles to the comfort of sticking around people you know well, and your not really engaging with new people voluntarily then yes the risk of having an unpleasant experience is there for you. But don’t worry because still a lot of things can be done to increase your level of involvement towards the trip.

We see this also with the people who are experimenting with psychedelic treatment in psychotherapy. Psychiatrists tell their patients the risks, they tell about the effects and various other things are done so that the patient intelectually realizes that this is not as simple as popping a pill and feeling well. This requires much more then that. So when the patient realizes that this psychedelic treatment will be difficult, then automatically they get nervous because they know they are going to get confronted with themselves.

Then the psychiatrists give half a dose before administering the full dose which is a very good move. This way you make the patient have a taste of what its like to be in an intensified version of reality so that the patient realizes that when the full dose comes, he cannot escape it.
The patients then get nervous in a similar way you get nervous as to when you talk to new people. This nervousness is a certain level of resistance that your mind comes up with, it is not used to be involved with reality because most of the times it is dwelling on the past or imagining how the future will be like. With this kind of an untrained mind it is natural to feel anxious when it is about to get into a situation where it has to be fully in the moment.
However else can you be completely with another person? You can only be with them if you are paying attention to them right now. How can you score the winning goal in a soccer match if you are not 100% involved with the game? The same thing goes for a psychedelic. How can you have a good trip if you are not fully involved with the psychedelic experience? You cannot.

So like this (I don’t think the psychotherapists are aware that they are doing this) they are building up involvement with the patients. And so we hear about great results of psychiatrists with the use of psychedelics as treatment for mental health issues. And as this proceeds further and further I’m sure they will make great progress.

But if word gets out that these substances help people with mental dissorders then it is likely that people who have an ill mind start taking them without the necessary involvement. They will take it because they’ll think it cures them, they will only cause harm to themselves and if thousand of people start to have traumatizing bad trips, then psychedelic research may get cancelled entirely.
Then the decades of work of thousands of researches will simply go to waste because any number of idiots missuse the substances. I think we should prevent that, don’t you?

”Is it possible to permanently cure mental illnesses with the use of psychedelic substances?”

I will be very straight forward with this because this has to go from peoples minds. You cannot permanently cure your mental issues with psychedelics. ”Okay but I hear any number of people talk that it cured their depression, why is that then?”.
Suppose you are depressed and out of the blue you have an extremely ecstatic and loving psychedelic experience, the effects leak out for weeks. How will you tell everybody how your trip was? You will tell them it was amazing even years after it happened isn’t it?

The memory of the trip stays of course so when people talk about their good trips they will always exagerate the benefits of what it was for them because temporarily they had such an amazing experience. They cherish this experience and want to keep it as a nice memory, so when they think about it, positive train of thoughts will come. This is why they think it has changed them fundamentally into a better version of themselves. But does it really?

For those of you who have taken psychedelics before, did it really take away your social anxiety, anger, fear, and frustrations permanently? If you are honest with yourself you will see that the psychedelic didn’t change you permanently, it only showed you what its like to be free of all those negativities.

”Is it even possible to get rid of mental issues permanently?”

Yes definitely, and the psychedelic shows us how to do it in a hard to observe way.

Have you noticed that when you take a psychedelic your body seems very light? Have you noticed you also become stretchier? If you try touching your toes many of you can’t go further then the ankle but when you take a psychedelic suddenly you can place your full hand palm on the ground. Your body becomes very light and less burdensome.
The psychedelic triggers an energy that courses through the entire body, it gets rid of blockages in the energy system and lubricates the energy system so thoroughly that consciousness becomes able to see itself more clearly because the blockages are now gone.

When a person practices Yoga, Tai Chi, Kriyas, Chants, etc. then this person is practicing methods to lubricate the energy system in a similar way to how a psychedelic does it without creating hallucinations and an unclear mind as opposed to the psychedelic who has these down sides.
So with these spiritual practices you can lubricate the body and energy system similarly to how a psychedelic does it so that consciousness starts to perceive reality better and better. If you remain with these spiritual practices on a daily basis you will see that you become more and more aware, this moves you out of the thought loops of your mind so that you can pay attention to reality itself and get involved with it.
It requires some daily practice, but even 15 minutes of Isha Kriya or 10 minutes a day of Brahmananda Swaroopa chanting can help you tremendously.

There is no such thing as doing some ritual or psychedelic once and then becoming the way you want to be permanently, it requires something more then that.

Using psychedelics to purge yourself | the method of the Shaman

Psychedelics have been used for thousands of years for the purpose of ”taking an internal shower”. This means that people use these substances to get rid of layers of negative imprints in the human system, this results in a sudden outburst of extreme exuberant negativities.

You may have seen people cry, scream, yell and freaking out on Ayahuasca and on various other substances. This is happening because throughout life most people collect certain negative imprints which are stored as data in the body, the psychedelic can release much of it in an instance. This is not the fault of someone who insults you or a job interview you got denied to, this is 100% completely your making.

Your thoughts, your emotions, all of these things are stored. If too much garbage is there within you, it has to come out at some point. If it doesn’t come out then slowly over a period of time you will become dull, irritated or compassionless. If you never allow it to come out it can even destroy your whole life at some point.

So when we feel extremely sad for not just a few days, but for weeks or months, it becomes important to look at it and take care of it. It is possible to release the negative imprints in a sober state but you will have to just sit down and allow it to come out. It can be difficult to get it out sober, because when your sober you can easily distract yourself with your phone, drugs, television or people.
But when you take a psychedelic, you cannot escape it.

Psychedelics basically intensify your current experience, meaning that whatever it is that is in your experience right now, it will get more intense on a psychedelic. So all the negativity you ran away from so easily in this society filled with distractions, suddenly comes to you all at once.

Can you imagine how you would feel if all negative states, all negative interactions with other people and all negative situations in general come to you all at once? It is not that these situations come to you, it is just that the remaining imprints that they caused are released all at once.

This is why when people go for an Ayahuasca retreat in the amazon they don’t just go for 1 day, they take the substances 3 to 5 days in a row to make sure they are cleansed.

This is truly a beautiful way in which people are using psychedelics because within a matter of a few days you can literally transform a person into a completely new version of themselves.

Please don’t think ”ohh so if I take Ayahuasca, my depression will go away!”. It is not that simple. Yes it is possible to completely purge yourself of most negative imprints that you have gathered throughout your life within a few days, but it is not easy. You may want it really bad and you may feel like you are willing to do whatever it takes to ensure your own well being, however, please do not underestimate the power of a process like this.

Take your time to reflect and consiously answer the following question for yourself:

”Suppose that all negative feelings I ever experienced in my life come to me all at once, am I ready to face that?”

If the best thing in the world comes to you at a time when you are not ready for it, it will be trouble for you, even though it seems like a good thing at first. For example, suppose you build a billion dollar business, its considered a very good thing and it can create a lot of well being for you and the people around you. But if you are not ready to handle the responsibility of taking care of a billion dollar business, then it will be suffering for you isn’t it?

Like this, the most profound life changing experience can come your way, when you are ready for it, its fantastic, when you are not ready for it, it is not so fantastic.

Do you really think you are ready to face your demons? Truly, be honest with yourself, how bad do you want liberation? Are you ready to face whatever comes your way in the psychedelic realm? Even if it is your own death?

I’m not trying to scare you away but it is important that you understand what you are getting yourself into. Believe me, you don’t want to take a psychedelic and realize as the trip comes up you weren’t ready after all.
Truly if you feel like you are ready to die to get into the experience, you can consider to take it.

The ultimate possibility a psychedelic can bring you to

The only intention you should have on a psychedelic is to access the Divine realm, in the blissfulness of this realm you become free of all psychological and emotional drama. Even if you experience pleasant thoughts and emotions, they are nothing compared to the ecstacy that can be attained from the spiritual realm.

Most people who trip alone are simply being thrown all over the place by their mind whilst they trip. People are so involved by their thought and emotion that they are unable to touch the ultimate potential of the psychedelic.

You don’t have to believe anything, nor should you believe anything I say. It is best to get a subjective psychedelic experience first before we start talking about deeper dimensions of the psychedelic, however, this subject is one in particular that everyone should know about.

For the veteran psychonauts in the community and also for some new people you may have heard that people experience rebirth, they get an out of body experience, they fly through space with the speed of light, etc. But you only hear this from people who took insanely high dosages (or from people who are very sensitive).

This is why people feel so well after they take a high amount of psychedelics and get to that realm, because when they come back they’ve been in states in which they were completely free of all emotions and thoughts.

The most beautiful is when you can sit still, focus on one point and then slowly move into that realm, this requires preparation. If you’ve done the Inner Engineering program and you’ve practiced Shambhavi Mahamudra for some time, then when you take a psychedelic it becomes likely that you are able to sit still and focus on one point with as a consequence that the entire universe opens itself up to you. This is no philosophy, religion or belief system. Anybody who is willing to put in a little effort can access the Divine realm consciously so that they can explore reality outside of regular human perception.

If you just want to experience pleasant emotions and thoughts thats your choice, but that pleasantness will only fade away and you’ll get back to the ordinary version of yourself. But if you are willing to take some effort in order to prepare properly then the psychedelic can show you things you would not even experience in your wildest dreams.
